The field in the 2019 PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event is drawing closer and closer to crowning its new champion, as just 48 hopefuls will return to the tournament area at noon local time to continue to battle it out. Leading the way is Pasquale Braco with a stack of 2.8 million. He is followed by Shannon Shorr and Diego Falcone. Isaac Haxton and Timothy Adams are still in contention for that top prize of almost 1.7 million euros. The Return of the Platinum Pass On Tuesday PokerStars announced, it's coming back for round two and this time it will take place in one of pokers most coveted destinations, Barcelona. The 2020 Platinum Passes will once again be worth approximately $30,000. Included will be the buy- and money for travel and expenses including a six-night stay in Barcelona for the player and a guest. In a surprise event the first five platinum passes were given away to the qualifiers of the Chase Your Dream – Play Against Your Heroes promotion. Sarah Herring gives August 27th update from Casino Barcelona. We crowned four new champions yesterday and we will cover them all shortly. -Most eyes, and certainly all cell phones yesterday were pointed very clearly at FC Barcelona stars Gerard Pique and Arturo Vidal in the first ever single day €25k high roller. Both stars went deep in the event. Arturo Vidal finished in 5th place and Piqué came runner-up. Ultimately it was Juan Pardo who topped a field of 70 entries to take home the top prize of nearly €500k. The biggest winner yesterday without question was Sergi Reichack. It was another triumphant day for the Spanish poker community and this time it came on the home turf in Barcelona. Sergi Reixach has topped the field in the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller to claim his largest career score of €1,816,210. Reixach defeated Sam Grafton in heads-up play who also pocketed a seven-figure payday. It was a hard-fought battle for Reixach who battled it out with Grafton for around three hours with each player holding significant chip leads. The first major event of the 2019 PokerStars.es EPT Barcelona festival has come to a conclusion at Casino Barcelona and it was Markku Koplimaa that claimed the title, trophy and top prize of €585,500 in the record-breaking €1,100 EPT National. Throughout four starting days, a total of 4,682 entries emerged to create a stunning prize pool of €4,541,540 and the final table line-up included eight different nationalities.
