On cosmonautics Day, Vladimir Putin visited the renovated historic pavilion "Space" at ENEA.
the President visited a number of exhibits, in particular the lander of the spaceship "Vostok-1", which landed Yuri Gagarin, the exhibition dedicated to the International lunar program.
the Head of state also familiarized himself with the work of the centre "Aerospace and aviation", created on the grounds of the pavilion. The center is divided into several areas: Museum and exhibition space, educational-scientific cluster, is aimed at implementing children's and youth projects, recreation and family entertainment.
the Decision to open the centre – the largest space Museum and exhibition center not only in Russia but in the world – was made in 2015. The project was implemented by the Moscow government jointly with the state Corporation "Roscosmos" and "rostec", JSC "United aircraft Corporation" and a number of defense industry enterprises.
during a visit to the pavilion "Space" the President was accompanied by Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of state Corporation "Rosatom" Igor Komarov.
the President also spoke with current astronauts and space veterans and congratulated them on their professional holiday.
