LUKOIL decided on the site for construction of polypropylene production with capacity of 500 thousand tons. The project company is ready to implement on the basis of the Kstovo refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
told reporters As the head of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov, the company took the investment decision has on the project. Products with estimated production capacity of 500 thousand tons is expected to ship for export.
In may, the Vice-President for refining, petrochemical, gas processing Rustem gimaletdinov, noted that NK is considering several sites for the start of production, including the Permian and Kstovsky NPZ. The advantage of the first option is the presence of a large amount of the "right raw material" – ethane, liquefied petroleum gases and light naphtha. For the construction of similar capacity can take about 5-6 years from the date of final investment decisions.
Earlier LUKOIL representatives voiced the possibility of implementing the project on production of polypropylene at 500 thousand tons of styrene and 300 thousand tons at the site in Nizhny Novgorod. However an obstacle for this project was the reluctance of regional authorities to provide incentives to the company's current projects.
LUKOIL asked the Nizhniy Novgorod authorities tax benefit 4.4 billion until 2024 for construction of a complex for processing of oil residues with the installation of coking. Polypropylene production in Kstovo can be a logical continuation of the work of two new catalytic cracking unit with capacity of 4 million tons per year, a byproduct of which is propylene.
At the end of June it became known that the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod region approved the granting LUKOIL 1.3 billion tax breaks on property and 3.1 billion rubles of tax benefits on profits.

Last year NK has continued its modernization. Cited the amount of 2.7 billion rubles, which the company can invest in the development of the site until 2020.
the Head of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov also noted that the capacity of the propylene polymer can grow on the Playground in Burgas (Bulgaria) from the current 80 to 150 thousand tons. The timing of the project is discussed.
Another promising project – a gas chemical complex in the Stavropol region, the investment decision has adopted in February 2018. Investment in the construction of MCC, according to the official statement of V. Alekperov, will reach 120 billion rubles. The plant will process gas from the Caspian fields Shelly and kuvykina.
