"LUKOIL-Komi" begins to build small diameter wells for high viscosity oil permocarbon

"Oil of Russia" 25.07.2019 at 13:17

The First SMD drilled to Usinskoye field.

"LUKOIL-Komi" drilled at the Usinskoye field the first well of small diameter (SMD). On it informs "Komiinform". Oil production in permocarbon deposits of Usinsk Deposit process is very difficult, including because of the high viscosity of raw material, says the company.

the Method of construction of small-diameter wells in the last few years has been studied in several regions of operations of LUKOIL, for example, in Western Siberia and the Volga region. According to the results, the company took a decision on future replication of the technology. Small diameter wells can reduce the costs of their construction and involve them in the development of additional oil reserves. This gives the opportunity to increase economic efficiency and rational development of deposits.

Experts of "LUKOIL-Komi" analyze the first results of the SMD built into the marginal zone permocarbon reservoir of the Usinsk field. This year it is planned to drill two more wells in the Central area geological structure, and in the coming years to continue the implementation of the technology.

the Development of high-viscosity stocks permocarbon reservoir of the Usinsk field and Yarega oil field is a priority for LUKOIL-Komi. By 2018, the company has increased production of tight oil production 25%.

help IA Devon Usinsk oil field located in the Komi Republic. Refers to the Timan-Pechora province. Usinsk field with oil reserves of 350 million tons was opened in 1963. Its development began in 1973. Oil Usinsk Deposit is considered to be high viscosity. LUKOIL-Komi is developing the infrastructure of their crafts. So, in 2018, the company launched on the Usinskoye field 6 modular cluster pump stations.

In Russia is actively building small diameter wells, the company "Tatneft". In particular, they are applied in the development of carbon deposits.
