MW will reduce production at the plant in Oxford if the UK left the EU without signing a deal with Brussels, says the Agency Bloomberg with reference to financial Director of the company Nicholas Peter.
BMW has already planned a complete shutdown of the pipeline on 31 October, when the UK should leave the EU, and on 1 November, Peter said to journalists at the Frankfurt motor show.
“We have to raise prices and restrict production, reacting to this development”, – he said, referring to the Brexit scenario without transaction.
Peter confirmed the annual forecast of the BMW and said that the company goals can be achieved in the current economic situation.
Automakers for more than a year warned that a “hard” British exit from the EU will force them to move production outside the UK. So, Toyota Motor Corp. last week announced its intention to cease production of cars in the country in its day of release from the block.
