Quantum acquires one of the business Western Digital

, Quantum announced an agreement with Western Digital Technologies, subsidiary of Western Digital, under which Quantum will acquire her ActiveScale associated with the object storage.

According to a buyer, adding the line products and experts will join the ActiveScale software portfolio and will enable Quantum to increase its presence in the market of object storage. In the words of the press release, Quantum expects to "strengthen the leading role in the storage and management of video and unstructured data using a software approach". The parties to the agreement promise that the customer transfer business goes unnoticed, and Quantum plans to not only provide continued support ActiveScale products, but also expresses firm commitment to invest in the expansion of the product line ActiveScale.

the transaction is Expected to be completed by 31 March 2020, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
