News about the group Pink Floyd

October 27, 2016 in the dance hall Cambridge corn exchange held a performance of "Syd Barrett: A Celebration", organized by the Cambridge service Live together with the family of Barretto. It's the place where Sid played his last show with the band Stars, was chosen to install a commemorative art object. Its Grand opening was accompanied by a sold out concert in front of family, friends and the remaining members of Stars. Very good, and for some very emotional concert of the Swedish band Men on the Border, followed by Sandviken symphonic orchestra of fifty people. Men on the Border covered a wide range of the works of Barrett with some dramatic and even unexpected interpretations of the Symphony. In the concert there was also a narrative from the well-known playwright and former school friend Sid David Gale (David Gale), accompanied by psychedelic lighting from lighting designer Peter Wynne-Wilson (Peter Wynne-Willson), who was responsible for the light show early Floyd from 1966 to December 1967.

Men on the Border and orchestra Sandviken plan to repeat this successful performance in the concert hall in Stockholm Berwaldhallen 14 Nov 2020 – exactly fifty years from the date of the release of his second solo album, Syd "Barrett". (The orchestra of fifty people called, apparently, to emphasize ubileinoe this date - approx.transl.) As a special guest will be guitarist Janne Shaffer (Janne Schaffer), most famous for his work with VIA ABBA, as well as his vast solo discography. "I borrowed Barrett your amplifier when the Floyd played in Stockholm in 1967, so I look forward to honoring him in the Berwaldhallen, where Pink Floyd also were awarded the Polar "Nobel prize"," - said Shaffer.

Show "Syd Barrett: The Summer of Love" based on the life of Barrett before, during and after his participation in Pink Floyd and narrated by playwright David Gale, a childhood friend of Sid and his roommate when they both moved from Cambridge to London in the mid 60s. And Peter Wynne-Wilson will bring his liquid light show from London to Stockholm to illuminate Berwaldhallen.
